What does Sapphic mean?

The term Sapphic typically refers to women who love women, regardless of how they fully identify with their sexuality (lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, etc)

Sappho was a female Greek poet and lyricist from the 6th century BCE that lived on the isle of Lesbos off the coast of Greece. Most of her musings were written about love and longing as one individual speaking to another individual, with many of her writings directed towards women. 

While the terms “Lesbian” and “Sapphic” can be attributed directly to her historical existence, it is suggested that Sappho (like most ancient greeks) did not view sexuality in terms of exclusive attraction. Our connection to the word Sapphic comes from our desire to create a space for ALL women to take control of their own understanding of self. No matter where you are in that journey, we are here to help you create adventures that will put you in control of your own identity and experience!

Why was Sapphic Moon founded?

In 2016, Bridget Collins had an idea! As an out sapphic woman working in the elite professional male companion industry, she often encountered women looking for a female companion. Additionally, she saw that there was little representation, space, and focus for women who truly wanted to work as female companions for other women. She spent many years working with and creating a space for women to take control of their dating experience.

What are you doing about safety precautions for Covid 19?

The safety and comfort of our companions and clients is first and foremost in our minds when booking appointments. We take all safety concerns seriously. As we have experienced the effects of Covid-19, we have put policies in place to continue our commitment to you.

We ask both our companions and clients to check in with us 24 hours before appointments to confirm they are not experiencing any signs or symptoms of the Covid-19 virus, and have not been knowingly exposed to Covid-19. If either party is experiencing 2 or more Covid-19 symptoms as defined by the CDC, we will reschedule your appointment for a later date.

We encourage our companions and clients to follow all local safety mandates on an appointment. As we are a national agency and book appointments across the country, it is the client’s responsibility to know the local mask, vaccination, and safety guidelines in the region they are booking.
